Go Ahead and Light up the Town

I think As Tears Go By is a heartbreakingly beautiful song. It’s hard to imagine the guys who sang Satisfaction singing a song like this. Which is what makes it even more beautiful, I think. The violin sounds doleful and sad and nostalgic and yearning.

A senior once chastised me for putting my playlist on shuffle, and told me that it makes the music lose some of its awesomeness. As the Stones play on, I am beginning to see their point. Time Is On My Side is playing now, and I’m smiling cos I’m thinking back to the audio background that I used it for, and how I never realised how disturbingly apt it is.

I’m ridiculously re-in-love with the Rolling Stones.
